Does it have temperature control or a gooseneck spout?
No. This is a standard 1.7 litre kettle with a regular spout, a cool-touch handle and a single automatic shut-off at the boil. There are no temperature settings, presets or digital display. My kettle won't click off when the water boils. What's going on?
The shut-off depends on the water reaching a proper boil with the lid closed, so the most common causes are a lid that is not fully shut or scale building up inside. How do I descale it, and does it need a special cleaner?
No special product is needed. COMFEE' suggests white vinegar, baking soda and water, worked in with a cleaning bottle brush and wiped down with a microfiber cloth afterwards. Care is hand wash only, so the kettle should never go in a dishwasher, and it is worth drying the stainless housing fully rather than leaving it wet. How often you descale depends on your local water: harder tap water just means doing it more often.
Is leaking around the base or lid something to watch for?
Leaks are not a common theme among buyers, but it is sensible to know where wear shows first on a kettle built this way: the 360° base contacts and the pop-up lid seal.
