Disney Mickey Mouse Waffle Maker

Purchased 2 of these over the last year or so, and now I’m replacing it with something higher quality.Pros:It’s really cuteCompactMakes a perfect sized waffle for the kidsCons:Non-stick surface scratches very easily, which appears to be made of teflon – which is toxic when scratchedThe non-stick surface burns and stops working if left on too longThe batter spills over into the hinge which is nearly impossible to cleanBatter spill over very easily if not using the right amountNo indicator telling you when the maker is hot enough or when the waffle is readyCheaply made but for the price I didnt expect much moreI think the ratings are over hyped – after a meal, the novelty wears off… sorry Mickey, we still love you!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Love this waffle maker. Easy to use. Dont wait for red light to go green. It won’t 😂. It stays red all the time. After a couple minutes add waffle batter and close lid. Check on it after 3 minutes. We will use it a lot.

Our son gave this waffle iron to his dad for Father’s Day. It was something Dad had wanted for many years. Unfortunately, when we opened the box, there was some sort of residue on the top of the waffle iron. It probably wouldn’t have impacted the ability of the thing to make waffles but it was very disappointing. Then, after reading the instructions it was clear that there is no sort of indicator light for when the waffles are finished cooking. A basic, $15 waffle iron includes that feature. Even without the gunk on the top, this waffle iron is just not worth the exorbitant price one pays for the Disney character shape.

Update: the hinge broke completely within a couple of months just with minimal force. Disney won’t replace. Cheap garbage.We love the end result, which I would say is a Mickey pancake not a waffle. Unfortunately it is very slow and the hinges seem like they could break very easily. If you have a small family who doesn’t eat much or are only making a couple it’s perfect. Anything more than 1-2 pancakes takes forever so whoever is making pancakes might not get to sit down to eat with everyone unless they wait and serve cold pancakes

The waffle maker quit working about 35 days after we purchased it. It no longer gets hot enough to make waffles. The most disturbing part of this however is that Disney is telling me it is not their problem, and I have to take it up with the manufacturer. There is no manufacturer on the label, the only name is Disney. Does Disney actually expect me to run down an unknown manufacturer in BFE China? Get real.So let’s get this straight. I purchased this in a Disney store (on Amazon), it had Disney branding all over it, and yet they will not support a claim….since they did not make the product. Oh, and the product also says Disney is the manufacturer.Note to Disney: The fact that you did not make the product does not give you absolution…..You branded it, you put it in your store and you sold it.Bad, Bad, Bad Disney. Jiminy Cricket would be ashamed of you…..

Worked fine for first waffle but then gradually stopped heating up at all. Only given 2 stars instead of 1 because the after care has been great and I feel that that needs some form of recognition.
