Horizontal 19 LED Light Bar
The defining feature is the head. Instead of one small lamp, Gritin lines up 19 LEDs in a straight bar under an ABS shade, and positions it horizontally across the top of the book. That matters because light falls off quickly with distance. A single point source clipped to the top edge lights the nearest lines brightly and the bottom of the far page dimly, so a reader ends up nudging the neck every few pages. A wide bar evens out those distances, and its length also softens the shadow that forms where pages curve into the spine of a thick book. The shade keeps the light directed down at the page rather than out into the room, which is what lets one person read while another sleeps. Gritin also stresses a flicker-free, glare-free output, and one owner notes there is no sunspot-style glare on the page. The flip side is size: the bar makes the head wider than a compact clip-on, so it takes a little more room in a bag even with the neck folded.
