Separate the base, which uses no screws, and fit 4 new AAA batteries with the polarity shown. Refit the base firmly so the rubber seals sit evenly.
Fill the clear tank with liquid soap, up to 400ml. A thinner liquid soap is easier for the pump to draw than a very thick gel.
Press the ON button; the indicator shows blue. Pressing OFF turns the indicator red and stops the sensors.
Hold your hand under the nozzle several times until soap comes through. If the motor runs but nothing appears, keep triggering it to clear the air from the line before assuming the unit is faulty.
Use the +/- switch to set how much soap each dispense gives. Start low for concentrated dish soap and increase it if needed.
Stand it on a flat surface beside the sink, where the base is not sitting in standing water.
