1. Set it on a flat, water-safe surface

   Place it on a level surface away from electronics and wood that could mark from mist, ideally at table height so the mist disperses rather than settling.

2. Lift the cover and fill below MAX

   Remove the top cover and add room-temperature water up to, but not past, the MAX line. InnoGear notes that staying below the line gives a stronger mist.

3. Add a few drops of essential oil

   Start with a small amount and adjust to taste; a 100 ml tank needs far less oil than a large diffuser to scent a small room.

4. Replace the cover and plug in

   Seat the cover fully before switching on, then connect the included AC/DC adapter.

5. Choose a mist mode and light setting

   Pick continuous mist for a strong burst or intermittent for a long, gentle run, then set the light to cycle, hold a color or stay off.
