Nebula and Laser Star Projection
Nine nebula effects drift across the ceiling alongside twinkling green stars, and the two layers can run together or on their own.
The Mooyran Galaxy Projector is a bright galaxy light for kids and game rooms, best for children nervous of the dark at bedtime. Rated 4.5 out of 5 across 16,835 user ratings. The main drawback: stars only come in green and the nebula colour choice is limited. We scored it 4.5 out of 5.
Bright enough to fill a whole ceiling, and for some adults that is exactly the problem. Mooyran's astronaut projector throws a moving nebula and a field of green laser stars that kids tend to adore, but the nebula doesn't dim as low as light sleepers might like, and the stars are single-colour green dots rather than a white starfield. Where it shines is as a bedtime ritual for children, a mood piece behind a gaming setup, or a desk figure that still looks good switched off.
NoFussDeal rates the Mooyran Galaxy Projector 4.5 out of 5 at $33.99. Last updated September 27, 2026.
Nine nebula effects drift across the ceiling alongside twinkling green stars, and the two layers can run together or on their own.
The astronaut's head attaches magnetically, so you can rotate it to point the projection at the ceiling, a wall or over a desk.
The remote changes pattern, brightness and rotation speed, switches stars or nebula on and off, and sets a 45 or 90 minute auto-off.
It runs from the included USB cable at 5 volts, drawing 5 watts, and has no batteries in the figure.

Set the astronaut on a table or nightstand a few feet below the ceiling. Too far from the surface and the stars stretch into streaks.
Seat the astronaut on the moon base and pose the arm how you like.
Connect the included USB cable to a USB wall adapter or a powered USB port.
Rotate the magnetic head to point the projection at the ceiling or a wall.
Use the remote to pick a nebula effect, turn the stars on or off, and adjust brightness and rotation speed.
Set 45 or 90 minutes if you want it to switch itself off, or leave the timer off to run all night.
Yes: we score it 4.5 out of 5. Mooyran's astronaut projector does the fun part well: a moving nebula and crisp laser stars across the ceiling, a magnetic head that makes aiming painless, and a figure that earns its shelf space by day.
Rated 4.5 out of 5 across 16,835 user ratings, with 79% giving it five stars and 5% one star.
Stars only come in green and the nebula colour choice is limited. Even the lowest brightness can be too intense for adults trying to sleep.
Run the nebula alone for a softer glow, the stars alone for a minimal ceiling, or both for the full galaxy look.

Mooyran's astronaut projector does the fun part well: a moving nebula and crisp laser stars across the ceiling, a magnetic head that makes aiming painless, and a figure that earns its shelf space by day. It is quiet enough to run all night, which is why so many parents keep it in a child's room. The limits are real, though. The stars are green only, the brightness doesn't go very low, and the remote wants a clear shot at the back pack.
Buy it for the show, not for a faint night light. For a child's room or a gaming corner it delivers a lot of atmosphere from a small, silent USB-powered figure; light sleepers and anyone wanting white stars should look elsewhere.
