Wash the carafe, brew basket, permanent filter, pod adapter and reservoir in warm soapy water, and rinse well before first use.
The reservoir ships on the side but can be moved to the back. The back position makes the machine much narrower under a cabinet; take a minute with the quick-start guide to switch it.
Fill the reservoir with fresh water and run a full carafe with no coffee to flush the system before your first brew.
For pods, fit the K-Cup adapter and insert a pod. For grounds, place the permanent filter in the basket and add grounds with the included smart scoop.
Select the brew size, then Classic, Rich, Over Ice or Specialty, and start the brew. Move the carafe off the plate before brewing into a mug.
