Set Your Temperature

The K-Elite offers adjustable brew temperature. Set it to the top of the range, 192°F, for the hottest cup, or lower if you prefer; either way, a preheated mug keeps the coffee close to the temperature you set.
Load a Pod and Pick a Size

Lift the handle, insert a K-Cup pod, and close it. Choose from the five brew sizes, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 ounces, and press Strong Brew first if you want a bolder cup.

My coffee isn't as hot as the temperature I set. Is the machine faulty?

Probably not. Coffee brewed at a 190 setting can leave the spout at about 187°F yet read only 158°F in a room-temperature ceramic cup, because the cold mug soaks up heat from the brew. Preheating the cup brings the coffee much closer to the setting. For the hottest result, the top setting is 192°F, which can feel noticeably hotter than an older Keurig 2.

How much maintenance does it need?

Some, and it pays off. Keurig's maintenance reminder alerts you when it is time to descale, and keeping up with it helps both taste and longevity. The pod holder and drip tray lift out easily and need regular cleaning. The housing the pod holder sits in cannot be removed and slowly collects gunk, so now and then it is worth unplugging the machine, cleaning that area with a long narrow brush over the sink, and letting it dry fully before plugging it back in.

Can I move it around or pack it away between uses?

It is better left in place. The K-Elite keeps some water in an internal reservoir by design, so it may leak if picked up and moved, and after sitting unused for a long spell it is worth running a few cleaning flushes before brewing again. For travel, a compact Keurig without an internal reservoir is the better choice.

How do I use the iced setting properly?

Fill the glass with ice, press the Iced button, and the machine brews hot coffee straight over it. It gets the strength right so the drink does not taste watered down, which is the difference from brewing a regular pod over ice, and it works with ordinary K-Cups.
