Unpack everything, wash the carafe, frother and scoop, rinse the reusable filters, then run two full reservoirs of plain water through the machine before your first brew.
Lift the reservoir out and fill it at the sink. When you put it back, set it straight down rather than at an angle so the seal seats properly and doesn't leak.
Fit the coffee basket for coffee or the tea basket for tea, add grounds, leaves or bags, and push the basket firmly into place. The machine recognises which basket you're using.
Choose a size, from a cup to a full carafe, and a brew style, then place a mug, travel mug or the carafe under the basket and start brewing. Set the delay-brew timer if you want coffee ready when you wake.

Fill a large cup with ice, set a medium size and let fresh hot tea pour over it for iced tea by the glass, or use the over-ice setting for less melting.
