Remove all packaging, check the slots are clear and stand the toaster on a stable, heat-safe counter away from cabinets and curtains. The rubber feet help stop it sliding.
Plug it in and run one empty cycle on a middle setting to burn off any manufacturing residue. A faint smell the first time is normal.
Toast a slice of your usual bread on setting 4, watch the countdown, then adjust up or down. Dense and seeded breads usually need a higher setting than white bread.
Try Bagel, Defrost and Reheat once each so you know how they change the countdown. Cancel stops any cycle straight away.
