Chill the liquid if you can, as it shortens the freeze. Dissolve sugar before pouring, and give thin drinks a little extra sugar so they freeze smoothly.
Pour between the MIN 27oz and MAX 54oz lines for drinks, or between the 27oz and 33oz lines for ice cream.
