Wash the carafe, filter and portafilter, then run one brew with water only to flush the machine.
Pour in the water for the amount of coffee you want to make, up to 4 cups, and close the cap firmly.
Fill the filter with medium-coarse ground coffee using the scoop and press it down lightly with the flat end.
Fit the filter holder and turn the handle until it is aligned with the lock position, so it is sealed tight.
Put the carafe on the drip tray, switch on and turn the knob to brew. Coffee flows after the water heats up.
Swing out the steam wand, place it in a jug of cold milk and turn the knob to steam. Turn it off, then purge and wipe the wand.

The Yabano does one job well for very little money: it makes a strong, steam-brewed coffee and froths milk to go with it, in a machine small and light enough to store in a cupboard. It is not a real espresso machine. At 3.5 bar it can't make the thick crema or concentrated shot a pump machine does, and the mostly plastic build is where most complaints land. Owners who bought it for lattes and cappuccinos tend to be very happy; anyone expecting café espresso tends to be disappointed. Clean it after each use, lock the filter holder properly and switch it off when you're done, and it can last; one owner's machine has run since 2021.
A good buy for milk-based drinks at a low price, as long as you know it's a steam brewer and not an espresso machine. If you want real espresso, save for a pump machine.
