  1. Wash before the first batch

    Wash the jar, lid and filter, and let the jar reach room temperature if it has been somewhere cold or warm. Check that the silicone ring sits flat in the lid.

  2. Fill the filter with coarse grounds

    Set the filter column in the jar and add coarsely ground coffee. Filling it about two-thirds full leaves room for the grounds to swell and for water to move through them.

  3. Pour cold water through the grounds

    Pour cold or room-temperature water slowly over the grounds, letting it seep into the jar, and repeat until the jar is full. Never use hot or boiling water in this jar.

  4. Seal and refrigerate

    Screw the lid on firmly, close the flip cap and steep in the fridge overnight at least. A longer steep gives a stronger brew.

  5. Remove the filter and serve
