How much you get from the Galaxy Buds depends on your phone. On Android, and especially on a Galaxy, you get the equalizer, adjustable Ambient Aware and remappable touch pads. On an iPhone you get the same light, secure fit and AKG sound with none of those extras, including volume control from the bud. Either way, calls are the weak spot and there is no active noise cancelling; the seal from the eargels does the isolating.

Connect the 252mAh case by USB Type-C or place it on a Qi wireless pad. Samsung rates a 15-minute charge for up to 1.7 more hours of play.
They pair with Android and iOS over Bluetooth, but the Samsung features need a supported Android phone; the US retail package states Android 7.1.1 or higher.
Open the lid with the buds inside near your phone. On a recent Galaxy phone, pairing is quick and reliable; on other devices, pick the Buds from the Bluetooth list.
Try the supplied eargels and ear wings until the buds seal and lock in place. A good seal improves both bass and noise isolation.
Android users install the app for the equalizer, Ambient Aware levels and touch-pad remapping. These are not available on iOS.

Not active noise cancellation. These original Galaxy Buds block sound passively through the eargel seal, which works well with a good fit, and Ambient Aware does the opposite, letting outside sound in.
They are fine for occasional calls, and Samsung rates 5 hours of talk time per earbud, but experiences vary: some calls come through clearly while other callers struggle to hear. If calls are your main use, look at a headset built around its microphones.
The Galaxy Buds hang together well: 6 hours per charge plus 7 from the case, USB Type-C and Qi charging, balanced AKG tuning, independent buds and a secure, light fit with spare eargels and wings. Against them are Android-only software features, weak call quality, an Ambient Aware mode that struggles in wind, and no active noise cancelling.
Buy the Galaxy Buds for the fit, the flexible battery setup and AKG tuning, especially on a Galaxy phone, where Ambient Aware, the equalizer and touch remapping all work. Skip them if calls are your main use or you need active noise cancelling. iPhone users still get comfortable, good-sounding earbuds, but they pay for features they cannot use.
