Update 12/22 – It is as if someone said “this better be perfect” on the replacement, and perfect it is. Very happy with purchase. After many years of using Amazon, this is my 1st negative review. Item arrived on time. It had clearly been used and repackaged, no instruction inside either. Am assuming they do come with some kind of instructions. It had finger prints all over it. The inside smelled of chemicals (maybe previous owner used to clean???).I filled it with water to see how well it would work. It heated up water very fast. After it auto shut-off, I noticed water leaking from the off/on switch at the base. Very dangerous as this is where the item gets its power, from the base.I know and realize mistakes can and are made. This one however has me baffled. A used kettle with a dangerous leak that could easily get into the electric base. I’ve put in for a replacement, it’s a great looking kettle. Hope it has no issues.

This kettle is a truly gorgeous design. I’d like to fill my kitchen with Nostalgia products. The temperature gauge is useful and looks cool, and it’s a lovely shade of red. There are some small objections. The lid is not hinged, which is what I would prefer, and the plastic water gauge is rather ugly relative to the rest of the unit. And of course since it’s not digital you can’t do things like tell it to turn off at a certain temperature; you have to keep an eye on the gauge or just pour in some cold water after it’s boiled if you want to get it to something else. But that’s minor compared to the joy of seeing this shiny read thing every morning. The first one of these died in 6 months, but the company replaced it when I emailed them about it. The replacement has lasted for over two years. So the first failure seems to have been a fluke (or even my roommate running it without enough water and ruining it without telling me – you never know). The product is beautiful and the manufacturer stands behind it. So in spite of my earlier experience, I highly recommend this kettle.

We loved this kettle. It matched our toaster oven. We bought it in April and the lid broke (it’s in 3 pieces now) in August. It’s too late to return it or get product support. I don’t even know if I can buy a replacement lid, so I might have to throw out the whole kettle. Not acceptable. AT ALL.

I love this! I’ve used it way more than I thought I would, it’s better than the standard teapot used on the oven. I’ve used it every night for a month, sometimes twice or three times a day. I love they ability to see how much water has been put in, the temperature of the water and when the machine is on: the lever turns red. It automatically clicks off when the water is hot enough, so I don’t worry about forgetting the kettle is on! The color is beautiful and the retro look matches my kitchen perfectly. Everyone that comes over comments how beautiful it is (or asks what it is! haha and then they think it’s very cool when I explain how it works)All in all, I’m very pleased and would purchase again if I had to, and perhaps will buy more as gifts for friends and family.

We like the design of the cattle especially the thermometer. The issue we have is with rust which started on the spout after several months of use. Also the handle doesn’t feel solid enough when the cattle is full.

It is a really pretty kettle but I am returning it because it had a rust spot after using it just 1 time.
