You know what’s faster than this? Putting your meat in a sink full of water! Had steaks sitting on this thing for over an hour, they were still frozen solid! Put the steaks in a plastic bag, filled the sink with warm water, thawed in less than 30 minutes. Complete waste!!

I’ve used it twice so far and has worked as described. Both times I placed two frozen skirt steaks on the plate. The second time I ran the plate under hot water beforehand and the first time I did not. Both times the meat defrosted faster than just leaving the meat out but heating the defrost plate definitely accelerated the process. The meat was wrapped in plastic wrap so I didn’t have to clean up any drippings, but having the liquid tray underneath is nice peace of mind. It’s easy to clean up and is light weight so I can store it easily. My only negative is I wish the surface are was bigger but after looking at several options it was at the top of the range in sizes compared to others.

I was able to thaw 4 frozen solid large chicken thighs in under 2 hours. I like that the drip tray allows me to put hot water to safely thaw the meat quicker! The hot water method thawed the chicken in about 35-45 mins!And what’s great is, when you do the hot water method the metal tray part isn’t hot to where your meat will be reaching unsafe temperature levels.
