Works well but with low cfm output. I found it to work pretty well with cool water or by adding a few ice cubes and pushing more air with a small fan.

PROS——– It’s an actual evaporative cooler, not a humidifier.- Good sized water reservoir lasts a few hours.- Uses a standard micro-USB plug, not a proprietary charger.- Provides effective personal cooling in the right environmentCONS——– Comes with a USB cable, but not an AC adapter.- Fan isn’t too loud, but isn’t particularly quiet.- Directional fins don’t alter the direction of the air much.- Pump shuts off before the reservoir is fully empty, leaving a few ounces of water. After moving to Las Vegas last year, I was looking for ways to cool myself without having to turn down the A/C too much. I tried a different style of cooler that blew water vapor in front of a fan, and it worked okay but was never terribly impressive, and I remained on the lookout for another option. Fast forward to another summer and I found this unit, and even with no reviews it seemed like it was at least worth a shot. I was skeptical that it would actually perform adequately,Taking it out of the box, I was genuinely impressed by the build quality of the unit. It feels well put together and nothing rattles or feels particularly cheap. A micro-USB cable is included, however, it does not ship with an AC adapter, so you’ll need to provide one yourself, and the 5V/2A spec is higher than many phone chargers that most people have lying around, so some users may need to factor an additional charger into the cost of the unit.Filling it with water is relatively straightforward, however the reservoir doesn’t pull fully out of the unit because the pump is mounted inside of it. As a result, you may not be able to fill it with some larger pitchers–standard water bottles work just fine though. When turned on, the fan is neither too loud nor particularly quiet. It may bother some people looking for total silence, but it hasn’t been an issue for me yet. Pushing the “Cool” button on the top of the unit enables the pump and starts water flowing over the filter material in the rear. The filter material seems to be pretty standard for evaporative coolers, and should only have to be cleaned out occasionally if it becomes too dirty. The actual cooling effect is better than other styles of personal cooler that I’ve tried. In a dry environment, the blown air is noticeably sub-ambient. Climates with a higher relative humidity won’t experience the same effect, but here in the desert it’s a good option.I was on the fence about this unit as a whole, considering there was very little information available and being USB-powered seems weird. Honestly, though, I’ve been impressed. It’s sitting beside my bed now and I’ve been using it nightly–and I fully intend to continue to do so for a long time to come.

Just got it a few hours ago and so far its pretty good. I’ve been having migraine that I believe are related to sinus issues at the same time, my room is hot so I chose to buy this. I heard humidifier helps with sinus problems and so far it’s working, other than that it does keep me cool as long as I am within it’s range. I put it on top of my PC desk where I mainly tend to stay and do things in my room. The only issues I have with this is that on the low setting, it makes a high frequency beeping sound similar to a dog whistle or when your ear starts ringing which can get annoying. I don’t know if it’s a defect on the one I got or not but I can deal with it. It’s fine if I just put it on high so I’m not too bothered by it. Other than that everything works fine. The noise is not too bad other than the ringing noise I hear on the low setting.

This is a desktop for a big desk. The fan is strong and I was using it a good meter away from me and that was a nice breeze nonetheless. As to the cooling, I really can’t say. I’m in a good zone for swamp coolers (West Coast) but the pump doesn’t work and as far as I can tell, never worked. (The electronics are extremely basic, and touchy. The display is sometimes at odds with what it seems to be doing, but in any case it has nowt but a water level detector…seems to be a float valve built with a hall-effect transducer…and no monitoring for pump condition or status.)I yanked the pump and bench tested it. Dead. I’ve got a replacement on order. Pre-soaked the excelsior (or whatever they are using in this one) and am waiting for the forecast hot day to start so I can see how effective the basic concept is.)

The concept is there but the execution is awful. It’s a mini evaporative cooler or swamp cooler. The water is pumped into a filter in the back of the unit and air is drawn through the cooled filter and blows out the front. The only thing is the fan motor is extremely weak even on the highest setting.Take a deep breath, hold your breath for 2 seconds, now exhale and blow out. The air you just blew out is way stronger than what this fan outputs on high. I advise you to get something else.

Honestly I dont feel any difference between this and a $20 usb fan. Remember you are selling for $70. This thing is also noisy, the water pump produces some high frequency noise, and the fans are loud.I was gonna give 1 star, but the design looks good, so 2 stars despite the performance.

For 24 bucks, this is a nice cooler, it is fairly quiet, there is some fan noise but what do you expect? We have it on a nightstand at bedside and it adds a nice bit of white noise while we’re sleep, so thats nice. The water tank is large and lasts a decent amount of time, fill it before bed and it will last all night, though having to slide out the tank from the back to refill it is a hassle, I wish it would have an opening to fill from the front.Cooling power is not instantly dramatic, but over time very noticeable. We have no air conditioning in our home, and it has been consistently over 90 degrees most of this summer where we live, but this and one other similar personal swamp cooler, combined with blackout curtains make a dramatic difference in the master bedroom, bringing daytime temps from the mid 80s to about 70ish.We run this cooler 24/7 and it functions flawlessly.Owned for 3 weeks so far, plan to buy one or two more.

This air cooler is not for me. Doesn’t do the cooling for me and needs frequent refilling. Space it cools is very small, around 5feet. Started leaking and was sent back.

This is a “swamp cooler” or evaporative cooler, I live in Toronto, so our summers are humid AF. You cannot use this this for any kind of summer cooling here. HOWEVER this thing excels in this situation…Live in a city shoe box condo that turned off your AC in early October? is YES keep reading lolWe’re having a random weird spat of unseasonably warm weather with temps hovering around 20 degrees (in November) add to this humidity and the micro condo gets to be around 80 degrees inside fast.I have this on my nightstand and the water lowers the air blowing from it by just a few degrees which is enough to allow me to sleep comfortably and not to enter a state of menopausal hot flash rage.If you acknowledge the limitations of this its awesome! especially for the price, the unit is well made as well!
