What ever happened to predictability? You have a can opener that you let get to close to a pan and it turns into a Picasso, don’t laugh I’m a dude so according to society I shouldn’t be able to do much more that scratch myself without causing a 3 alarm fire. Nevertheless I turned our old can opener into a piece of modern art and needed a new one. Upon taking the nightmarish trip to the local *mart I was more than disappointed in the pricing structure of can openers. There were ones that sharpened knifes, played music, and I believe could launch a satellite to mars, all while, I believe, opening cans. So finally, laughing to myself I came home and got on amazon. Now for the official review. This can opener opens cans….. well! Let me say that again. The can opener, that I bought to specifically open cans, opens cans well. It opens small cans, big cans, even really freakin’ tall cans. I did not try the knife sharper thingy because years ago we bought those knifes where the sharp dressed dude comes to your house once a year and sharpens them for you. The best part is it didn’t cost me half a days pay and it opens cans. I have no problem with anything falling off and its built really well. In closing this can opener opens cans, and does a god job at it.

This cheap little can opener is great. My husband bought it because he hated using the hand can opener. We use it all the time. I gave it four stars, because some times you have to move it around a little to get the can in the right place to get it to open and you have to hold down on the top of the can opener if you are opening a big can or the whole can opener will fall over. Even with these little problems it is a good little can opener.

Warning does not work well at all. I have 3 dogs and 7 cats so I have to open a lot of cans. This can opener is junk it will not open any cans that the paper surrounding the cans tears! It is a complete hassle to get the can started! It is also a nightmare to pierce the top of the can with the blade! On the average it takes me 15 to 20 minutes to open 4 cans. This is absolutely absurd Proctor-Silex should be embarrassed and ashamed to put this product on the market. I have since thrown the Proctor Siex in the trash and purchased a Hamilton Beach can opener it is absolutely incredibly easy to use and does an awesome job.

I’ve used this twice and it’s awful. It’s difficult to get the blade lined up with the can. The can stops and starts rotating (can isn’t dented or damaged) and once the lid is cut, there are shards of metal sticking up from the lid.

I am amazed how it can even open big cans like tomato juice. It was a great buy

I had one of these many years ago and when it died, I never purchased another one. I simply used the manual one, which finally broke and made opening cans almost impossible. I purchased another manual can opener, which also broke within a year. It was still usable but not easy. My hand cramped everytime I tried to open a can. Hence, the order of the power can opener. I don’t know if it’s wonderful or I’m just happy to have another opener. It’s not very tall, so it won’t open the taller cans. But, it works fine for the normal sized 8 oz cans.

This is a little short for some cans but it does do the trick. cord could also be a little longer

This item also has a built-in knife sharpener on the back of the unit. All my knives were sharpened nicely after swiping the blades 3-5 times and continued to stay sharp. Cleaning is simple; the can opener blade removes easily and snaps back on without a problem.

I wish I went with one that cost a little more instead of going cheap!! I just needed one quickly so didn’t shop around just saw a good price and ordered!! I do not like this can opener. The magnetic piece that holds lid in place constantly pops off!!! So if I am not careful And remove the can after its open then I spill some of what I’ve opened… quiet frustrating!!!! It should not pop off as easily as it does. My last can opener never had any issues but it finally broke after 6-7 years of having it!! We threw it away before I could order the same one!! I couldn’t remember the brand either however proctor silex is a familiar household brand so I got it!!! This must be a lowest grade can opener cause it is not good!! I will be buying a new one in the near future!!Spend a few more dollars and buy a newer or better model!! I don’t recommend this one, it may have worked out for others but not for us!

So I’ve had this for almost two months now and I’ve used it every single day to open my pets food and it works great so far.
