My wife and I bought this for my parents as a gift. We got the product in early October and by November 7th I got a message from my parents that it’s already stopped working. Tried changing batteries, tried wiping off the sensor, everything, and nothing works. Looking on here I tried to do a return of the product but our date to return by was 4 days before my parents told me it wasn’t working. Keeping in mind it was at a vacation house, it only had about 4 days of use on it total which is extremely disappointing. Needless to say we were not happy with this whole situation.

**Update** I bought this back in Nov 2018, today is August 23rd 2019 and it stopped working. Thought maybe the batteries needed to be replaced so, I changed them like any normal person thinking that would be the problem. Nope. Still didn’t work. I even put batteries that I’m using in a “WORKING” flashlight and, still nothing. Tried pushing the on/off button to see if the little blue light would flash….nothing. $30 for a mere 10 months of use. Manufacturers just DON’T have the quality and care for anything these days. They just want the almighty dollar and couldn’t care about the consumer. Sad, so very very sad.I just received this today but, I can say, so far it’s a better quality dispenser than the first one I had. The color is a little off from the other stainless products I have in the kitchen but that’s ok. It took a couple times for the dispenser to dispense soap at first but now it’s working as it’s supposed to. Over all I like it. Time will only tell how long it will last.

This looks gorgeous but alas like the pretty girl you loved in high school ( the one that never read a book and could not hold a decent conversation) … this product is all looks and well sorry to say it no brains. It is preset to dispense a certain amount of soap only (the amount dispensed is the same amount of soap they give the orphans in the kitchen line in Oliver in other words very very little) So in order to get it to dispense enough soap to actually wash your hands and or dishes you have to beg not once but at least three times upwards to get enough. For a device that is supposed to simplify your life, this was way more trouble than it was worth. Go with the smart girl!!! (not pictured)

I bought this based on the beautiful bottle design. When I first got it, it took 2 tries to get soap dispensed out. OK. I guess I can live with that. But after less than 6 months, it takes 3-4 tries and sometimes, its not a full squirt but a tiny squirt of soap. This is very frustrating, inconvenient and a waste of batteries. I’m bummed that I can’t even return this shabby but beautiful product now. I would not recco this product to anyone.

I’m a longtime fan of Umbra and have found they always provide new and interesting approaches to every day objects as well as advancements in emerging design and technologies. The automatic hand soap dispenser is another example of their great design and functionality. At first I was concerned the dispenser was too large and that it would stand out in a bad way in my kitchen. On the contrary, the arc of the top and height perfectly aligned with the faucet single-handle of the sink and stands out only as a skillfully designed addition. The motion sensor works well and the amount of soap dispensed is just perfect. I have had not issues with accidental deployment of soap from moving near the dispenser while washing dishes or other kitchen work unlike with some models where any movement within several inches creates wasted soaps streams. This is a great, reliable purchase for anyone looking for a tech-based solution.

Huge disappointment. The pump will not stay primed, takes at least three passes before any soap starts to dribble out. It only delivers a few drops of soap at a time. I bought this to replace a more expensive Simple Human rechargeable pump that stopped charging after lots of use. SH brand is more expensive, but a far superior product. I’m going back to SH.

Pro tip- put lube in this and keep it on the nightstand for quick access for activities. Hand sanitizer and lube have a similar viscosity and it works great in this dispenser! Lol

*Update* I contacted Umbra and they sent me a new one. This one worked great for one week the suddenly stopped working, just like the other one. Don’t waste your moneyPurchased this for work right before we were shut down in March and had in in the box until a couple days ago. It worked fine for literally one day then stopped pumping anything out. I tried putting warm water inside it thinking it may be clogged but no luck. Can’t return it and can’t get ahold of anyone to help me with it. Don’t waste your money

I purchased hoping the manufacturer fixed the problem in the reviews. Shame on me. It works great for 60days and then just stops pumping the soap.

Sensor isn’t 100% there, I mean, most times it works but a couple of times out of say, 30 uses, it can’t “see” my big hand waving like a mad man right in front of it. Apart from that, dispenses just the right amount of soap.

I purchased one of these years ago from A local retailer and it’s still working great. The 3 I bought from Amazon – not so good. I bought them to use with hand sanitizer for when my business reopened. One of them never would dispense the product. The other 2 you have to trigger the sensor several times before the sanitizer will dispense. It gets gummed up and won’t come out easily. I made sure to add purified water to the sanitizer thinking maybe it was too thick of a solution. It sort of defeats the purpose of “touch less” hand cleaning if you have to keep tapping your hand under the unit so many times you end up touching the dispenser anyway! Unfortunately the return window was only ONE month. I hadn’t even reopened my salon yet so didn’t get a chance to really test them out. Now I am out $90!!

it was a little trying to use – but was willing to put up with but it stopped completely. I picked it up and the entire bottom and my sink was covered in dish soap ickyness. All of it – had drained out from the bottom seal…So of course 15 days after return date closed. ugh.

I liked the shape and the amount of soap that you can fill. After using it for 3 days it stopped dispensing soap but the blue light still lights up. I don’t know if I received the defective one or not. I’ll give it another chance, i’ll try to have this exchange and see how it goes. By the way, the auto soap dispenser to the left is 10 years old and I bought it from Bed Bath Beyond and it’s still working.8/13/20…I am updating my review and will give it 1 star instead of 2…. if I can give zero I will. I received the exchanged soap dispenser 2 days ago, after one day of using it, it’s not dispensing any soap any longer but the blue light is still working (and definitely it’s filled with soap). I tried to add water to the soap to make it thinner (as what the “unclear” instruction stated but it’s still not working. I will return again. See video attached. Don’t waste your money!I’m wondering how many returned items until Amazon would stop selling. I know now the reason why Bed Bath and Beyond is no longer carrying this item.
