The timer on this product is a helpful feature, but why not automatically shut the power off when the time runs out ? Now you have to stay around and wait for the buzzer to go off, so you can shut the power off and stop the cooking. It would have been so easy for you to connect the two, and is now really a shortcoming. Also, he cover is overly heavy and would not need to be.Other than that, a good product.
This is the best egg cooker out there. I thoroughly researched them all before deciding on them. I like how you do not have to poke a hole in the egg before making a hard-boiled egg in this cooker (and you have to in many other brands). The eggs rarely crack during cooking. I have a bowl of ice water ready and when the hard-boiled eggs are done (signaled by a loud beep that won’t stop until you turn it off), I take them out and put them straight into the ice water to stop the cooking. After about 10 minutes in the ice water, I dry them off and put them in the fridge. The eggs last in the fridge for up to several weeks. I made 7-14 eggs at a time and eat them one at a time. Other egg cookers, where you have to poke a hole in the egg, worry me about making them ahead of time. I worry they won’t keep as long. I have also made poached eggs with cheese, omlettes, and scrambled eggs in this cooker. It is absolutely fantastic. The plastic tray for the eggs washes easier than other brands which are metal. I just throw it into a sink of hot, soapy water immediately after removing my eggs and it cleans up easily. I always run it through the dishwasher after I clean it in the sink by hand to make sure I got it clean. There is a fill line in the water collection compartment. If you make sure the water does not go above the fill line, then it will not leak water onto your countertop while cooking. If you overfill it, you risk that issue.
I bought this egg cooker, opting to pay a higher price vs. the many other cheaper options, thinking I’d be getting a commensurate quality. While it worked, it was a great egg cooker and I used it almost every day. However, just a month after buying it, it just suddenly stopped working. I bought it on September 23. Today (October 30), it completely broke down. I didn’t scratch it, drop it, etc. It just stopped working. Less than a week after the return period. So, good when it lasts, but it is a piece of junk that might break down on you right after the return period.

I eat softboiled eggs every single morning, so I’ve used a variety of different egg cookers. This is the best one I’ve tried, but I’m still not totally satisfied. I would recommend this over any other cooker with the possible exception of the microwave ones.Should I get an egg cooker? Obviously you can cook eggs any which way in a pot on the stove. There’s nothing magical about this or any other egg cooker. I’ve owned and used egg cookers for years because I want to make softboiled eggs that turn out perfectly every day without any fuss or attention on my part. That’s the real benefit of an egg cooker in my opinion. If all you want to do is make a batch of hardboiled eggs every now and again I would say just use a pot of water on the stove. These devices add consistency, speed, and convenience at the cost of money and counter space.Should I get this egg cooker? The first thing to know is that this one works differently from most egg cookers. Virtually every other model you’ll find (including the Cuisinart, which I used for years) works like this: you put a certain amount of water in the bottom and the thing just cooks until the water runs out. So the amount of water you put in determines the cook time. What this means is that you have to use a special beaker with all sorts of complicated markings on it and you have to get the water level exactly right or your cook time will vary from one day to the next. This is a huge pain for a bunch of reasons: 1) it’s hard to do first thing in the morning, 2) the cook times are never what the manufacturer thinks, so there’s a lot of trial and error required and then you have to remember the exact water level you personally like, 3) it’s hard to vary the time based on the size of the eggs you have, etc. etc. This item works differently: the cook time is controlled by a slider that shows you how many minutes it will run. You can leave the slider in the same place and the cook time will be the same every day. No fuss. No guesswork. Slide a little higher for a bigger than normal egg, a little lower for smaller, etc. So this unit is great for getting consistent results. I also think the handle on this one is better than the cuisinart. I tried to open the cuisinart with one hand and got a really nasty burn. Lesson learned. Why not five stars? I’ve had mechanical problems with two of these that I’ve owned over the years, including my current one. At first, the unit would just boil water for the amount of time specified and then the alarm would go off. Now what happens is that it boils for a few minutes, inexplicably stops boiling, and then just sits there until the timer goes off. My eggs still cook because they are sitting in hot steam, but something is not working properly. When the one I have now stops working I’m going to try one of the microwave ones, where you put your eggs into a special container, add water, and then just pop the whole thing into the microwave. That strikes me as an even easier and more elegant solution, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Very easy to use and you don’t have to worry to keep the time.
I researched all of them and for this price point it works perfectly!

Worked exactly 3 times. When i say worked, I meant boil the water. The product’s thermostat doesnt work…. So no matter whichever setting you try, you will only get hard boiled egg…. In my case, after the 3rd time I can see the powered on light but no more boiling water or cooked eggs…. Its just an expensve piece of garbage in my kitchen.
