I was skeptical of these gadgets after reading several reviews on different kinds. I purchased this one because it is stainless steel. The only non-metal parts are the knob and the cord. It works as advertised and is a lovely little addition to the kitchen cabinet as well. Now many thinks do you buy for the kitchen that is simply beautiful? The measuring cup has an egg piercer on the bottom. I have broken two eggs because I squeezed them too hard, forgetting that eggs are very strong top to bottom, but weak side to side. Also, keep the eggs in the orientation they are in in the carton. The larger end is “up”. That is the end you want to pierce.

after a few tries (with blood, more on that later). i was able.to cook my perfect egg. product works well. it is a time saver.1. keep your eggs at room temp before cooking th to avoid shell cracking.2. poke a hole on top of the egg, with tool included or just use a push pin.3. add right amount of water, place eggs in the tray, close the cover. set temp to 110C.4. cook it for 5 and half mins. turn off the heat. let them sit for 30 sec with cover on.5. carefully remove the cover. transfer the eggs to ice cold water. the temp differences will help seperating the shell from the white.6. enjoy!Be extreme careful when handling the metal egg tray. the rim is very sharp. I cut myself when cleaning the tray. the unit I received even has a metal shard sticky out. ao i am taking off one star from my review.

I made a big mistake that I didn’t pay attention before buying this that it doesn’t have free returns. I read so many good reviews and just purchased it. I have to pay $8 to return this. I am just not satisfied with this item because for the price I paid it doesn’t provide anything special than other cheaper egg cookers that I have used in past. The base where u put water doesn’t detach from the machine. So it makes it really hard to clean. It also doesn’t have a alarm or buzzer to notify when eggs are done (My older cheaper model had it). It looks good so 1 star for that. I am disappointed that I am stuck with this product. Please think twice before you purchase this item.Update: so after seeing my original review the seller reached out to me and offered me to fix my issue. They offered me a discount on my current product or they would send me a new one with auto shut off (yes they improved the design and the new ones have auto shut off). It looks good and is all metal. So with the new feature added it’s worth the price. The seller cares about their customer’s satisfaction and I will definitely buy from them again. I recommend this item.

Looks great 2 works a treat but take care with the egg cut out metal plate that the eggs sit on. I’m nursing a seriously deep cut after holding the back of the plate to wash it. It is razor sharp so take care. Other than this it works a treat. Follow the instructions you can’t go wrong for perfect soft, hard or poached eggs.

It’s a beautiful appliance and works a treat. This is my first egg boiler so very impressed. Poached eggs need half the time given in the instructions so need to play around with the timings. They also stick to the stainless steel dish even though I smear with butter but that’s ok. I might try lining it with greasepeoof paper. It’s worth it.

I purchased this egg cooker with Auto Shut-off and it did not shut off when it should have. Even though the button shut off, the cooker itself did not stop heating. I waited five minutes and the cooker was still hot. I could put my finger on the plate, but after a few seconds my finger got too hot and I had to unplug the machine to stop it from heating. It would be hazardous to leave it plugged in.Also, I used the measuring cup to fill the base with the appropriate water level for an omelet and the steam came out the bottom of the lid instead of the top which created a puddle of water on my countertop. I believe this happened because the omelet dish is too large for the steam to pass around it and forcing the steam out the sides instead of the top of the lid. I really loved the looks of this egg cooker, but that is about it.Another thing I did not like, is that there are no handles to remove the egg tray or omelet pan after it is done cooking! You have to use tongs to remove the eggs individually or try to remove them with your fingers while they are hot and put them into a cool water bowl, ouch!! Vobaga did not think of the user when they made this product.I returned it and purchased a different brand (Cuisinart). I purchased this to replace an older model Cuisinart that is still working, but I didn’t like the base heating material because we have hard water and it is difficult to clean. The new Cuisinart has a stainless steel base. All in all, this has a very desirable appearance, but that is all! I don’t trust the electrical components of this Vobaga egg cooker! It’s a shame!!

I like that it is not plastic… less risk of getting the carcinogens…. was comtemplating of returning it at first bec my sunny side up was overcooked at first but now I love it…… for sunnyside up I use the soft water level for 2-3 eggs in the pan, perfect everytime now…

Worked great at first. However i like my eggs soft boiled and with each use i find that i have to use less water then previously because it keeps making them hardboiled. Started on the amount of water that the measure cup stated was needed for soft and that worked for about 2 or 3 uses then i had to lower it little by little everytime. Now im having to use half of the water needed for soft and occasionally still get hardboiled eggs. Worried that ill end up not being able to use it at all eventually

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. For soft boiled eggs try one or two eggs, every wall outlet may be slightly different. So fast and easy and very compact for Tiny Home!! I bought three others as gifts for the men in my life who cook! Put eggs in an ice bath after to cool then peel. So happy I bought an egg cooker!! This video may be a bit noisy building construction in background but you’ll see machine is very quiet.

I purchased my first one (NOT automatic shut off) a year ago for home and I like it. I always add more water than recommended because I like my boiled eggs to cook longer. I don’t really use the measuring cup – at this point I know how much water it takes to get my eggs the way I like them. Also, I DO NOT poke my eggs with the pointer attached to the cup so that may be another reason why it takes longer (my preference). The bottom of the metal rack is VERY sharp for this one so you have to watch yourself and be very careful – haven’t noticed this same issue with the second one.I purchased my second one AUTOMATIC shut off (work) and same thing — I add more water than recommended.I give this only 4 stars because they need to be updated with a sound indicator (in addition to the light indicator) and because neither one are easy to clean. When you cook the eggs the silver bottom gets stained and no matter how hard you scrub it never looks the same — there always appears to be little specks of white film left behind on the bottom and I do not like that. I have had to let cleaning solution set for hours on numerous occasions to loosen whatever that is on the surface.Otherwise, if you are not as anal as I am with regards to keeping things clean then it is the perfect little cooker!

Faulty switch, does not connect all the time.product looks stylish but this is not good enough.

Does exactly what it says. The all stainless steel construction feels very sturdy and keeps plastics out of food preparation. The only minor quibble is the measuring cup,- the markings are unreadable and anyway are in millilitres not linked directly to how the egg is cooked.
